I Spy: Peacock Feathers

photo
This sums up why I salivate over color. I mean, I just want to EAT these colors. They are so alive. And could a peacock feather be any more sexy? So exotic and organic in shape. I'm liking what I'm a seein'.

The Art of the Word

I'm no expert on typography. And I am definitely no wordsmith. I think when I had kids the vocabulary part of my brain was taken over by other important information like: always knowing where the "Mimi" blanket is and knowing all the names of the Yo Gabba Gabba characters. These Quote Art Posters are starting to grow on me. I guess since my memory is shot and my vocabulary is limited, I appreciate these more.

Metallic Wallpaper Karma

I love to see what was once a funky fad, come back again in a modern way. Growing up, we had a bathroom with some super groovy metallic wallpaper. It was light blue and light green shiny swirls. It was something like this, although somehow it looked much cooler.

Privacy Please! The Coolest Window Coverings

How cool are these!? Roller shades. You can select the level of opacity, and you can reverse the design. I've had my eye on these for years. Why oh why did I put boring wood blinds in my bathroom when I could have done this for the same price! Easy way to add architecture for cheap!

I Spy: Greek Key Pattern

I go to sleep thinking about patterns, I dream about patterns, and in my morning haze, it's the first thing I think about these days. Woke up this morning with greek key on my mind. Simple, but not. Classic. I dig it.

Color Lover: not-so-mellow YELLOW!

When I saw that this year's color of the year was Honeysuckle, I got really excited because I thought I had predicted this year's color- YELLOW! I don't know about where you live, but where I live, honeysuckle flowers are yellow. I'm confused that the color honeysuckle is actually pink. Anyone else with me on this? And while I do love pink, I don't really know what to do with it without making my husband and feel like an outsider in his own home. So for now pink stays in the little lady's room.

With that said, I'm declaring Karrie's 2011 Color of the Year to be Yellow. Here's some reasons to love yellow.
