Customer's Picks- Patterned iPhone Cases
It's like a gift every time I get a Happy Habitat phone case order-- I open the email and scroll down to see what a customer has chosen. Often I look at the combination and think--- that's odd, I'm not quite sure how that's going to look together. Then I put it together and LOVE it. I think that I've already put together the best combinations-- but every day I get something new that that's fantastic. Thought I'd share some of my favorite recent orders... thanks to all my creative customers for letting me put together something new and interesting every day!

Happy Habitat Eco Throws Go Down Under
I will refrain from making every over-used phrase about Australia. No shrimp on the barbie, mate, or anything else. I PROMISE. But I did want to share with you this fantastic little e-boutique shop based in Australia that is carrying my Eco Throws-- Adorn Homewares. The shop owner, Joanne is the mother of the lovely Loni Parker, the Editorial Director of Adore Home-- my favorite online mag. It's so bright and colorful and full of inspiration. Joanne's shop has some great finds, and she will ship to the US if you see something you have to have. I sent a huge shipment of Throws months ago and wondered why she didn't get them on her website, then realized that our seaons are oppposite-- they are just now gearing up for winter, as we enter summer. Seems like I'm seeing lots of great designs and inspiration coming from Australia lately! Can't wait to see what's next from both mother and daughter.
Here's some of the patterns and colors that Joanne has in the shop:

Rainbows and Doors
Does this ever happen to you: you have something on your mind, then you start to see it everywhere- the laws of attraction I suppose. Might be a word, or a name, or a pattern, or finish? Well, I've had doors on my mind, being that mine is in a state of repair-- halfway sanded, wood-filled, but that's as far as I've gotten. And I guess I always have rainbows on my mind, as that color wheel spins in my head non-stop.
So my mind must've been destined to find this:

Isn't this fabulous!? I wish I had a house I could do this to.
I've been trying to decide how to paint my front door. I did the pscyho-stalker thing and snapped a pic of this door I've had my eye on in my neighborhood:
Cool how it's two toned-- hard to tell from my iPhone/stalker pic, but it's kind of random colors-- like a purplish red, and a softer orangeish red- a bit brighter than appears in the photo. I love it. Not sure if I can pull it off since I have that lame Amittyville Horror half-circle window. Hate that window. Anyhoo-- I'll post if I go for the gusto and try a 2 toned experiment.

Rainbow Kitchen: RAINBOW!
If you recall, I set out on a quest for kitchen cabinets in every color of the rainbow-- that actually looked good. Why? I have no idea. But it's been a hard search. I scour so many magazines and blogs (in the hours of spare time I have), but nada. So can I just close out the rainbow cabinet challenge with this image and knock out all colors at once?

Realistically cool right? I could truly have a kitchen like this-- would brighten my every day!

Curb Appeal with Pattern
Striped Shutters are a fun option:
A friend took this photo from somewhere in Colorado.
(Thanks for sending these Amy, you know me well!). Charming, right?

LOVE these chevron front doors!
Or maybe just a planter or window box:

| photos How fantastic are these?! They used reclaimed wood to make these AND they are on casters so you can move them around. |
Wish I could find some other patterns besides chevron, but that's all I could find. Anyone out there have any great patterns on their front door or on the outside of their house? Please share!

Happy Habitat + LEB = a GIVEAWAY!
Hello Friends!
Wanted to let everyone know about a Phone Case Giveaway that Lindsay from Everything LEB is hosting. This is my very first EVAH phone case give away-- and I'm so happy to have partnered with Lindsay for it. She's a super talented-down-to-earth blogger with great taste and an eye for the up-and-coming. Or maybe she just makes the up-and-coming. (I'm not just blowing smoke, Lindsay!)
Anyway-- pop over to Everything LEB and get the details.
I'm loving the combination that she chose for her iPhone case-- coral chevron with light pink quatrefoil-- I want to do everything with those colors now. Cute, right?

Vintage Scarf Pillows

But that didn't seem quite right.
So I made a pillow instead. Here she is:
(Oh! You can see in this photo a sneak peek of the
Fretwork Eco Throw in GREY-- coming soon!)
Amazing how it matches the pelmet box fabric that I designed.
I hadn't planned that, just a happy coincidence!
The pillow was super easy to make. I used some old drapery liner fabric that I had on hand and fused the scarf on to it with "Heat N Bond Lite", which is an iron on adhesive, so that way it has a little extra strength to it since it's a lightweight silk scarf. Iron the stuff on before you sew the pillow together (duh.) Since I'm too lazy to learn to sew a zipper, I just did an easy overlap in the back, I even just used the selvaged edge so I didn't have to sew a hem on it. (Hem is probably not the right word here, but you know what I mean.)
Making this scarf pillow took less than a half an hour,
it was FREE since I had everything already
AND it's a green project--using recycled materials and scraps.
Whoohoo!
